Port of Vigo (Short and medium term projects)

 

The Port Authority is constantly developing new research, management and control projects, focused on protecting and improving the quality of our environment.

Some of the main ones are: 

 

 

  • Endorsement of ISO 14:001 Environmental Certificate to all activities carried out in the Port 

 

 

  • Installation of infrared cameras for the detection of spillages and water surface control 

 

 

  • A project to reuse and revaluate fish wastes 

 

 

  • A new system of Polyspan recycling

 

 

 

The Port Authority is adapting to new necessities and legal requirements with the final aim of achieving the maximum environmental quality for the Port, which will imply a better environmental health in Vigo, the Ría and the surroundings.
